2019 - January : Guided visit to the Faro Museum

In January a group of members visited the museum where we were guided by Luis Santos who works there. At the start of the tour Luis gave us an interesting talk about the history of the old convent that now houses the municipal museum.

We then went on the exhibitions which included– Paths of the Roman Algarve, the wonderful mosaic of the god Oceanus found in Faro, the Sala Islamica and the temporary exhibition of a collection of ceramic tiles.

After lunch a number of the group went on to visit the Maritime Museum.
