Archaeology, Dredgeology, and Mayhem: A tale of five? wrecks.
Ria de Aveiro has the most significant concentration of shipwrecks in Portugal. The most famed is Ria de Aveiro A, a 15th-century proto-caravel or a 17-century thinker boat. However several other vessels have been found, some were excavated, and others await brave intrepid souls that can bring projects to their full completion.
Ria de Aveiro B/C, Ria de Aveiro D, E, F, G, H, I, J, soon the entire alphabet will be completed with the wrecks in these inner waters.
Our talk will navigate through ria de Aveiro, its legends, its folklore, its funny vessels, and the happy and sad tales of some of the most iconic and mysterious shipwrecks of Portugal that lie in the seabed, some only 15cm deep.
