April 2024 : 4-day visit to Cáceres and Merida

On this trip with 27 participants we first went up to the eastern Alentejo where we stopped at Castelo da Vide for lunch and some site seeing. Castelo de Vide with its castle is perched on a hilltop and has always been an important strategic point being close to the border.

In the afternoon we went to visit the archaeological site of the Roman town Ammaia and the museum.

After this visit we traveled to Cáceres where we were going to stay for 2 nights. Plaza Mayor |
