July 2023 :  Day excursion to Perdigões

In July a group of members of the Archaeological Association of the Algarve went to visit the The Perdigões Archaeological Complex in Reguengos de Monsaraz (Alentejo). It concerns a Prehistoric ditched enclosure which dates from between 3400 and 2000 BC.

The site covers 16 ha which is partly owned by the Esporão wine estate. The research project is coordinated and directed by ERA Arqueologia.
